[WebLab-User] [Virtuoso] Questions about WebLab 1.2.2

Thanks for your answer.

You're right, i meant i was compiling the snapshot of solr-engine and
the other webservices and portlets, using the code in the trunk

So if you suggest to use a 1.x tag of the solr engine, which tag of the
other components should i use?
The advanced-search-portlet is tagged different, and has only v1.1,
v1.2, v1.3, v1.6 and v1.7-RC1
Is there an svn that points to the last stable version?

The JBI in effect has the old path, but i'm not sure how to update it.

One extra stuff I may have missed : you mentioned the "solr-engine
1.2.2" as "the snapshot from the svn". So first there is no solr-engine
version 1.2.2 (ie check solr-engine tagged version here :
http://websvn.ow2.org/listing.php?repname=weblab&path=%2Ftags%
2FWebLabServices%2FWebServices%2Fsolr-engine%2F) so I supposed you mean
the current version on the trunk which is based on core 1.2.2 and which
is the version 2.1.2-SNAPSHOT (check <version> tacg outside the <parent>
tag in pom.xml. Two things then :

- solr-engine starting from version 2.x is using a remote configuration
(ie calling a solr server) in order to ease the use of distributed index
but this is absolutely not documented. This is a task I need to do but I
don't have time for now. So simple advice : use previous version of
solr... or wait for my documentation ;-)

- code on the trunk (and this is valid for all components) is usually in
SNAPSHOT which means it is under development and it should not be used
in a WebLab application. There is not guarantee that SNPASHOT code will
work properly (even it should) and that it is compatible with other
SNAPSHOT components. You should rely on stable tagged version of
components. Thus get them out of the tag folder on the SVN.

That's it !

        Hi Carlos,

A bout the weblab demo 1.1, one important things to know is that
we are currently working on a new version that will includes the
updated services. Because for now, some configuration of the
demo needs to be updated if you change service version as you
have seen with the URLs of solr-engine.

Modifications should normally be limited to the petals JBI
declaration but somehow in the old demo (v1.1) some portlet were
directly contacting the services (ie skipping the bus). Thus I
        would suggest:
        - check the petals JIB configuration (in th service assemblies)
and validate the location (url tag) of services with regards to
        your own installation ;
        - if things are still unstable, check the configuration files of
portlets (usually portlet.xml but some portlets have additional
properties file) and check URL here.
Last advice would be to wait for new demonstration (spoiler
alert - new demo to be delivered end of February). But you may
not be able to wait depending on your own agenda.

        cheers,

The forum has been deactivated due to the increasing
number of attacks we were encountering.
Instead, you can use the WebLab mailing list in cc.

I'll let Gerard answer regarding solr.

                Best,
                Yann
